You know, as I was flipping through the games on Wednesday, I came across the Vancouver Canucks and Colorado Avalanche during the first intermission. Colorado, who coming in had just one win in a reaaaaaaally long time, was up 2-0 on the best team in hockey. I thought for a second that, hey, maybe that could last.

Vancouver reeled off four straight goals from Maxim Lapierre, Alex Burrows and two from Henrik Sedin the rest of the way. The Avs never scored again as the Canucks stromed back for a 4-2 win behind 27 saves from Cory Schneider.
With the victory, the Canucks became the first team to clinch a playoff spot, and they became the 2010-11 Northwest Division champions. As if you didn’t know that was coming months ago. All that’s left now is a President’s Trophy... and maybe Canada’s first Cup since 1993?
Brian Elliott was strong in goal for Colorado, making 36 saves on 39 shots.
