2011 Aegon Championships At Queens Club Results: Andy Murray Victorious

Andy Murray did win his first Queens Club title since 2009, but first he had an eventful weekend. On Sunday, Andy Murray played Jo-Wilfried Tsonga -- in a game of table tennis. Their championship match in the Aegon Classic at the Queen’s club was rained out.

Early Monday morning, Andy Murray stood in his boxers with a racket in hand, preparing to swing at what he thought was an intruder. Turned out to be a false alarm. Murray blogged for the BBC that he was wide awake after that so he watched the NBA Championships:

Not the preparation I’d planned, but I guess it worked out OK in the end.

In the end, Murray won Monday's midday match-up with a score of 3-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-4 in front of a full-capacity stadium. Murray ended the final set with a shot he took between his legs, or a "tweener."

The tournament prepares the British player for grass-court championship at The All England Club, which begins June 20.

"You don't get the chance to do that very often," Murray said. "It just came off. Sometimes they happen at big points. I felt comfortable on the court once I got ahead in the match.

"It was nice to just let something off by hitting that shot because I had been behind for 90 percent of the match. I enjoyed hitting them. It's good fun. Will I try it again at Wimbledon? If it works, I will try it anywhere.
