Andrew Luck engineers huge second half comeback for Colts

Brad Wells of Stampede Blue believes it’s time for Luck to be in the MVP discussion following another come-from-behind victory.

The folks at Battle Red Blog were largely concerned with the health of head coach Gary Kubiak, who collapsed at midfield -- but Vega still took some time to recognize that Keenum is the reason to tune in.

Houston’s offense was out of sync for the entire second half after coach and play caller Gary Kubiak collapsed on the field at halftime and was taken to the hospital for evaluation. The Texans never regained composure.

With the win, Indianapolis improves to 6-2 on the season. The loss sinks Houston’s chances of making a comeback in the division race. They are now 2-6.

Kubiak’s Texans dominated the Colts throughout the first half of the Sunday Night Football feature. The frightening incident occurred near the 20-yard line as both teams made their way to the locker rooms. It is unclear what caused Kubiak to collapse or if he has any preexisting conditions. Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips will handle head coaching responsibilities for the rest of the game.

The Texans currently lead the Colts by a score of 21-3 at halftime of the Week 9 matchup.

The 18-point lead has given the Texans life. Houston came out of the bye week with a 2-5 record, trailing the Colts by three games for the division lead. This was a desperation game for Houston, and the team has played like it.

Foster, who entered the game questionable to play with a hamstring injury, went down with the back injury without recording a single carry or catch in the game. Foster has 541 rushing yards this season and one rushing touchdown.

The Colts are coming off a bye, with their last game being an exciting 39-33 Week 7 win over their former quarterbacking legend in what was a statement game for Andrew Luck. The win not only carried a heavy dose of personel significance for the team and fanbase, it moved them to 5-2 and gave them a commanding two-game lead in the AFC South race.

The Texans defense has been one of the league’s best, ranking tops in total defense. At first glance, their 27.7 points per game looks bad, but that’s because it includes all of the defensive scores teams have put up on their turnover-happy offense. After taking out the astounding seven special teams and defensive touchdowns the Texans have allowed, the defense’s points per game number drops to 20.1.

Foster is in danger of missing his first game since the 2011 season due to a hamstring injury he suffered on the Texans’ first possession against the Chiefs. Kubiak said Foster had a better day of practice on Friday than he did Thursday but that his status would likely not be known until just before kickoff.

Nearly every expert online is picking the Colts. Ten out of 13 ESPN analysts predict the Colts to win, and six of nine people at CBS Sports are favoring Indianapolis. At Yahoo Sports, both NFL writers picked the Colts, as is the user poll.

Whether you side with the Colts or the Texans this week may depend on your confidence that Keenum can resurrect a moribund offense. The Texans rank 30th in the NFL on offense at 17.43 points per game. They match up against and eight-ranked Colts defense that is allowing just 18.71 points per game.

Foster and Tate may be game-time decisions due to injuries, so bettors will definitely want to keep an eye on their statuses.
