On to the fantasy playoff semifinals! The fantasy football world was dealt a big blow at the quarterback position as Carson Wentz tore his ACL. On the other hand, Aaron Rodgers was medically cleared to play.

Wentz was having an amazing season and currently sits as the second best quarterback in fantasy football. His performance in Week 14 was as good as ever. He passed for his four touchdowns for the fourth time this season. He came within nine yards of his fifth 300 yard passing performance of the season. Doctors are giving him 9-to-12 months of recovery from this knee injury. That means he could return during training camp or may start the season on the PUP list. Moving forward, Nick Foles will start at quarterback for the Eagles. He has the weapons but should be evaluated on a week-to-week basis.
Rodgers returns from a fractured collar bone, with a chance to get the Green Bay Packers into the playoffs. He is expected to start on Sunday, but faces a tough Carolina Panthers defense on the road.
Dak Prescott had one of his best performances of the season in Week 14. He torched the Giants for 332 yards and three touchdowns. He’ll be asked to carry the offense again with Ezekiel Elliott out for one more week. Prescott will face an Oakland team that has struggled against the pass all season. The Raiders have allowed twenty touchdowns and only two interceptions on the season. If you need to replace Wentz, Prescott is an ideal start for the semifinals.
Marcus Mariota has a minor knee sprain but is expected to practice and start this week against San Francisco. Mariota has disappointed this season for fantasy owners and much of that can be attributed to multiple injuries.
Josh McCown broke his hand in Week 14. Unfortunately it’s a season ending injury. Bryce Petty will start for the Jets in Week 15.
Tyrod Taylor continues to recover from his knee injury. Nathan Peterman suffered a concussion in Week 14. Taylor expects to start in Week 15 but it’s too early to confirm that. If Taylor and Peterman are out, Joe Webb would get the start against the Miami Dolphins.
Tom Savage suffered a concussion and will probably miss Week 15. T.J. Yates is expected to get the start for Houston.
SB Nation’s sleeper pick for Week 15 is Jameis Winston. He’s had two pretty good games since his return from a shoulder injury. Winston has been asked to carry the offense at times because of the struggling running game. If Atlanta jumps out to a large lead, Winston will rack up garbage time points. I think he’ll pass for 290 yards and two touchdowns.
