The best 11- to 13-year-old baseball players in the world gathered in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, for the 2017 Little League World Series, and after 30 games in 11 games the kids from Tokyo, Japan won their fourth championship in the last six years.

Tokyo-Kitasuna Little League won the international championship, then beat the U.S. champ from Lufin, Texas on Sunday, Aug. 27 to capture the title.
Format
Sixteen teams were split into two brackets, eight international teams and eight teams from the United States. Each bracket is a double-elimination tournament, with the U.S. winner facing the international winner in the Little League World Series championship game on Sunday, Aug. 27.
History
This is the 71st Little League World Series, which started in 1947. The United States has won 34 Little League World Series, including the team from Maine-Endwell Little League New York capturing the 2016 championship. International teams have won the tournament 36 times.
Venues
The two weeks of games are split into two parks in Williamsport — Lamade Stadium and Volunteer Stadium. The championship game will be played at Lamade Stadium.
