Were it not for him bringing sponsorship, Brian Scott would not be driving the RPM No. 44 car (formerly No. 9). But in need of additional capital to remain a two-car team, RPM hired Scott, who though winless in 208 Xfinity starts did enjoy some modicum of success. Scott's main priority is to log as many laps as possible and secondarily to avoid unnecessarily tearing up equipment, which RPM does not possess the means to continually repair.
