Although still under contract to Penske, Ryan Blaney, 22, will race the entirety of the Cup schedule for the Wood Brothers, who will also enter into a technical alliance with Penske that includes receiving cars and pertinent data. That affiliation allows the fabled Wood Brothers team, which has competed in NASCAR since 1950, to return to full-time competition for the first time since 2008 and with a driver who should make the team competitive most weeks. It would surprise no one if Blaney unseats the favorite Chase Elliott to capture Rookie of the Year honors.
