Another year, yet another crew chief for Hamlin, who's now on his third pit boss in as many seasons. Leading the No. 11 team is Mike Wheeler, a close friend of Hamlin's and his former engineer before moving to the Xfinity Series last season to gain experience as a crew chief. Hamlin is enthused, believing Wheeler is the missing ingredient to get him over the hump after repeated playoff letdowns -- including 2015 where a faulty roof hatch led to his demise in the Chase elimination race at Talladega.
