What was supposed to be a fond farewell to a retiring Tony Stewart is now anything but with the news the three-time Cup Series champion is sidelined indefinitely after fracturing his back in a Jan. 31 dune buggy accident. Just how competitive he is upon returning is a great unknown. Even before the injury, Stewart's competitiveness has waned considerably since winning his last title in 2011, as he's mired in a career-long 77-race winless streak and not made the Chase in three years.
